Rosati Windows Vs. McCloud Windows – Who is the most affordable?

When the day finally arrives, you’ll know it. You need new windows and you can no longer put it off. Who should you call to come in and give you a quote to replace the windows in your home? As I began my quest to get quotes, we got three of them before we made a decision.

Then after we made a decision, but before our new windows were installed, we continued to call out Window Representatives in the Columbus area so we could build this site.

Best Replacement Windows in Columbus, Ohio

Rosati Windows is literally three-minutes away from where my home is in the Hilliard area, so when it was time to call out the window representatives to give us a quote, they were on top of my list. To be honest, I assumed they would be the most expensive of all the companies that we called, but I was pleasantly surprised when they landed closer to the top than the bottom, but not in the number one spot.

We opted to also call McCloud Windows as we saw one of their TV Commercials on NBC and then Mad City Windows and Baths, a newer company with an office just down the street on Wilson Road, north of I-70.

Mad City, oh my Goodness! I think they are graded on how long they can camp out at your home. I didn’t think the guy was ever gonna leave. He just kept hounded us to buy. We told him at least ten times that we were not ready to make a decision as they were our first quote, but he was persistent. Finally, he realized we were not going to make a decision that day and 14 minutes later! Once I had all three quotes, we found that Mad City Windows was the most expensive and they were definitely out of running.

Why Replace your Windows

In our case, we built our house with Schottenstein Homes back in 2016. We are the type of people that prefer our windows open versus having the Air Conditioning on, so we open and close our windows about a thousand times per year. As we were approaching our home coming up on its tenth anniversary, we decided it was time to think about replacing them.

We have Twelve Windows in total, and five of them are on the west wall of our home. That is the wall that faces Wilson Road, which means lots of noise from traffic, rain on car tires and also noise from the Train Yard. All of this was our reasoning for why we wanted to replace our builder-grade windows.

Replacement Window Quotes

My husband and I decided that we wanted at least three quotes before we made a decision. Mad City was the first one in the door and after their two and one-half hour pitch, we decided three would be enough as we couldn’t bear the thought of sitting through that type of presentation more than three times.

Once Mad City left, I set up times with McCloud Windows and also with Rosati. McCloud got back to us quicker than Rosati, so they were number two on the list of companies that we decided to get quotes from. Joe was our representative. He was a very pleasant man and when we shared with him that we already had a quote from Mad City, he made a comment that he knew that he would be less than them and then asked who number three was going to be. We didn’t feel the need to hide anything so we told him Rosati and he just sorta smirked. Then he said “Great, then I’ll likely hear from you in a few days once you get their quote.” He seemed very confident that he would be hearing from us once we receive that third quote from Rosati.

I will have to say, his personality really hit home with how we like be treated and the amount of information he provided. He didn’t go into as much detail as the Mad City Rep, but he gave us just the right amount that we could conclude that his window was good quality and we could feel confident it would stand the test of time.

Last on the list of Rosati Windows. Much like Joe, Alec from Rosati was very personable. He was tolerant to our barking dog and again, didn’t put tons of pressure on us to make a decision the same day. He explained how their windows are manufactured and took some quick measurements of our twelve windows. He wrote up a quote that included what I would call their full retail price, then he subtracted for his allowed discount and then he added in additional cost to haul away the old windows and he also added back in a flat fee if we wanted to finance the windows rather than paying cash.

The Rosati quote was still more competitive than Mad City, but it didn’t beat the price of McCloud Windows.

Inquire about extra costs like hauling old windows away and is there an added cost if you want to finance.

Rosati Vs. McCloud who has the best price?

As a woman, the specs of the windows are not super important to me. I feel like all replacement windows, unless you are looking at a window that’s super up-scale, then they are pretty much the same and so it comes down to price for the project.

The cost difference between Rosati and McCloud was just a hair over $1000. It’s not a huge difference, but $1000 is still $1000. My husband and I are getting close to retirement, so any time we can save $1000, that’s a good day. (on the chart will see that Window World is #2, this quote was collected after we made decision to go with McCloud)

McCloud’s Window quote, didn’t add anything extra for financing or for hauling away the old windows. Who knows maybe it’s buried in their price, but it just felt better to not see a bunch of additional costs added to the final number.

The windows were installed a few months ago and all went as planned. The crew that showed up to install the windows was a father-son team, that go by Brad and Brad. They were kind, polite and got the job done in one day. We couldn’t be happier.

McCloud Windows – Grandview, Ohio

I would encourage you, if you are in the market for replacement windows to give McCloud Windows a call, specifically Joe. Ideally, let them be the last one you call in so when you see the price they give you, you can sign on the dotted line that day and put the whole process behind you.

I know it’s daunting but once you get your project complete, it’s completely worth it.
